Orkney Camerata was founded in 1994 following a Bach cantata collaboration with the Mayfield Singers. It quickly established itself as Orkney’s own small chamber orchestra and has since performed in venues throughout Orkney. Its performances in the St. Magnus Festival have been well supported and received. Having purchased its own harpsichord, the core repertoire is inevitably baroque, but music from all subsequent periods up to modern times has been included in the group’s ever varying programmes.
